At the entry-level there’s a 3.0-litre V6 unit with 335bhp and a return of around 25mpg. Above this, you have a smaller but punchier 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 with 440bhp, but slightly less fuel efficiency at 24mpg.
Turbo editions are where it gets interesting. Either you can go all out with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 which delivers 550bhp. Otherwise, Porsche has come up with the best of both worlds and introduced a Cayenne PHEV (Plug-In E-Hybrid) which saves on fuel by adding a 130bhp electric motor to the 4.0-litre V8. You can expect 75mpg and emissions of around 110g/km of CO2.
